Our guest book here in the flat is brimming with wonderful notes. Here are some samples. We are working on our second guest book since we opened.

Spring 2008

I had a wonderful time! Great hosts, beautiful city. I will come back, this time with my partner. Merci Beaucoup! Simon – Vancouver, Canada

Thank you so much for being such wonderful hosts. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful time. I had such a wonderful visit to your city, but most importantly  I had such a wonderful visit with my uncles. It is a trip I will never forget, and will be able to brag about for years to come. Thanks for all the wonderful sights, food, and conversations. Andrea and Mila – Denver USA

You welcome strangers and make them feel at home! You have opened a city with all of its wonder. You give an example of what it is to be human, which opens up doors. Thank you does not say enough.  I am going to go home and buy your book. I am sorry it was not in bookstores before I left. Matthew – San Francisco, USA

At the risk of boring you with yet more praise (what’s that you say? “Go ahead, BORE  me?!!), I’ll add my voice to others in this book, a voice of gratitude for my excellent choice of “BudaBaB” for this first trip here. Wonderful stay in a lovely city. I’ll recommend you to one and all, and will certainly return here when back in Hungary. Thanks again for so much expert advice and friendly service. John – Toronto, Canada

We feel like we probably stayed in the friendliest place in Budapest. It was so great to have a fellow American to guide us in the ways of this grand city. We also enjoyed our evening (and morning) conversations. The best of luck in your future and with the travel writing. Helene, Charles, and Lianna – Philadelphia, USA

Follow-up e-mail:

Hi Ryan,
We just got back! What an absolutely amazing trip. Yes, in retrospect, we wish we could've spent more time in Budapest. Yours is a wonderful B&B and we really enjoyed ourselves there. If we come back, we would definitely want to stay at your place. My brother couldn't believe that we stayed somewhere where the proprietor was from Long Branch, NJ! Anyway, once we get the film all developed and look at what we got, if there is anything good, we will send something for your place.
Best regards, Helene Charlie and Lianna

Thank you for welcoming us into your home. Staying at BudaBaB enriched our Budapest experience. We had a lovely time, and truly enjoyed following your hints and tips. Some led us to some wonderful retes (strudel) and we loved having your book to guide around the city! Samantha & Rebecca, Canada

Splendid – many thanks. I have rarely felt so relaxed when traveling – a beautiful city and a lovely home. Thanks for making it so welcoming.  I am so glad I had your book too. Carole – Liverpool, England

Thanks for providing such a great home base for our stay her in Budapest! The accommodations were spot on perfect and we absolutely fell in love with the flat. What great hospitality! Rachel and Tim- Seattle USA

Your B & B is great! Centrally located, easy to find and very comfortable! The time taken to make me feel welcome was greatly appreciated. Insider tips and great suggestions for restaurants, sights and your ‘favorite’ strudel shop was well worth my stay. Scott- Edmonton, Canada

Thanks for a wonderful place to get introduced to Budapest! The location, the ambience, and the hospitality are second to none. We expect to return and plan to tell friends about BudaBaB.  Darlene and Steve- North Carolina, USA

Fair dinkum mates, we two galahs had a bonza time crashing at your place, even though we were crook. Ta for looking after us, we appreciated the billy always being on. We will see you in Sydney cobbers and a slab of tinnies (blokes only- no sheilas. Throw in your budgie smugglers for a dip at Coogee. From you dinki di, true blue Aussies, Steven & Bob. Randnick, NSW, Australia

Thank you so much for your hospitality, which made our stay here in Budapest fun and ‘homey’. Thank you too for the special gift, the walnut crib- it’s very special- one that I will treasure. It’s been great to meet you. If you ever visit the Bay Area, please let me know. Jun and Alan- San Francisco

Loved staying with you guys. We had a great time visiting in Budapest and Vienna. This part of the world is so beautiful and the culture and history runs deep. Thanks for sharing it with us. Alan USA

Thank you for all the hospitality. Our first trip to Budapest was a wonderful experience. We are so fortunate to have bought your book to use as our guide and even more so to have been able to stay with you. Your home is beautiful and the accommodations were terrific.  Ginni, Stephen, Tres- Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Nagyon koszonom szepen (thanks very much) for your wonderful and lovely hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay here as a little family and we really appreciate your warmth and patience. See you ‘soon’ again. Love- Natalie, Thorsten, and baby Arwen- Germany

Winter 2007

Thank you for a great introduction to Budapest. Our morning conversations and evening chats were enjoyable and gave us the confidence to negotiate the city. All your recommendations were a hit – restaurants, sites, transportation, etc. We loved all the tours but Ron’s was the best at the Museum of Fine Arts. We will pass on the word about your welcoming home to other New Englanders. Susan and Kim- New Hampshire, USA

I am absolutely in love with BudaPest – two great cities in one. You both were most welcoming and generous with your knowledge. I only wish I had more time. There is so much here to see and do and taste. You have my unhesitating recommendation to even my pickiest friends and relatives. I will have to try this beautiful city in fairer weather- but even in the dark time of the year it just shines. Having the bright, colorful apartment to return to at the end of a long day was a great tonic for the foot-sore tourist. Much better than being cooped up in a hotel room. This is one gorgeous, exciting, enchanting city. You both helped me to discover it with greater ease. Mary- New Jersey, USA

Thank you for your friendly welcome to your beautiful home and for sharing your knowledge of Budapest. Staying with friends has been much more fun than a hotel. We appreciate the comfortable bed, the good food, the lovely apartment, and most of all the good conversation about books and teaching.  Elizabeth and Murry (Fulbright scholar)- State College, PA, USA

What you gave to me was more than a roof to cover or a bed to sleep in. When I came back after a long day of walking around there was always welcome there. You listened to my stories in broken English, you gave good and helpful advice which made it a lot easier and the calm and friendly atmosphere made me enjoy every day.  Though I traveled without my better half, my boyfriend, I never felt alone and always had a feeling of coming home. Thank you for all that. Peter- Cologne, Germany

Thank you again for your hospitality. It was more than generous! Our time so far has been great, thanks in large part to your advice. See you next time we are in Budapest, hopefully with John. Frank, Glenn, Chip- USA

Fall 2007

I want to thank you for making my first trip to Budapest a terrific one. The city is one of contrasts, both good and not so good; however, the hospitality and excellent conversations that you provided minimized the effects of the ‘not so good’. In fact, your knowledge of the Hungarian culture, life, and government really put so much of what I saw in proper perspective. Thank you for the comforts of home. Wesley (Washington, DC)

I have never felt so welcomed at an EBAB place like yours and that means a lot. I loved the warm atmosphere, all the little wonderful gestures like feeling free to light the candles in the room and the MAC support (from a Windows user like you) – shame, shame, shame on me ;  ) I will recommend your place also on EBAB.com and all of my friends. They are already jealous… Danke fur alles, Michael (Germany)

We’ve enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the hospitality, good advice, and entertaining visits. I wish we were close enough to participate in some of the Fulbright evenings, but it is nice to be in Debrecen boondocks as well. Thanks for all of your guidance to the big city. WE hope we can come again. Bill and Lynda (Oregon, USA)

You guys made our trip to Budapest PERFECT. Thank you for a great place to stay and all your help on planning our days. Your dinner suggestions were great! We had 4 fantastic meals. Most of all, we enjoyed your company. It was like staying with friends. Hopefully, we will return to Budapest again. You are always welcome in Texas. Martin and Felipe (Texas, USA)

Summer 2007

I am so glad that David told Eunice and I about your fantastic place. It creates a whole different experience to visit Budapest and stay in someone’s home, especially one as lovely as yours is. But on top of that, you are both so friendly, helpful and full of information. On the one hand it gives us insider information and on the other it augments the feeling that we are amongst family. Thanks for everything and I hope I have the opportunity to make it here again. Chris (San Francisco)

Thank you for being the most caring and amazing hosts. We really got the most of our short time in Budapest with your insights and suggestions. My favorite place—the strudel shop on Castle Hill. We really felt at home and this will be the first place I recommend to anyone passing through. Hope we meet again, Eunice (USA) P.S. love, love, love the apartment!!!

Many thanks to great hosts Ron and Ryan for a most enjoyable time in Budapest. I truly appreciate your warm hospitality and all the conversations we’ve had over the past four days. Lots of love, laughter, and luck to you both in the days and years ahead. Sincerely, Ken (Toronto)

Thanks for the hospitality and kindness I really had that feeling of being at home. Congratulations on your web site for this is where I found a lot of information. I will for sure recommend your B and B to my friends and entourage. Bruno (Brussels and Paris)

Thank you for the advice and the recommends of the good places to go. I like your apartment; it is big and in the center close to everything. I really appreciated my travels to Budapest (the baths and the Buda truffle I found in the market). Thanks for all of your hospitality. Maxime (Paris)

Thank you for being so incredibly kind to me. I truly felt as though I was part of the family. You have been more than generous and hospitable. I leave my wishes for health and happiness. If you are ever in my city, please contact me. Peter (NYC)

This trip has been beyond incredible thus far. It has made our trip even more remarkable having spent time with the two of you. We love your flat and enjoyed the city. Thank you so much for sharing and showing us around, plus making us feel so comfortable being ourselves. I hope to make more trips in the future. Love, Elise (Ron’s grand niece from Colorado)

I’ve already e-mailed home to tell anyone who plans to visit Budapest to be sure and check out BudaBaB. Words are small representatives of the large hospitality you both offer…Big Caring, BIG HELP, BIG generosity. Your claim to providing a loving and caring home in your beautiful web site has been true throughout our brief visit. It is so nice to know there is a place to call home when we choose to return. May that day come soon. Tina, James, Justin, and Josh (Modesto, CA)

Thanks! Thank you very much for the kindness and generosity you showed me. Thanks again for directing me to M and the Europa Café. I felt as if I was spending days with friends. Hopefully, I will return soon with my French husband. Meriam (Barcelona)

Thank you so much for your hospitality. You made me feel really comfortable, quite at home, even if being from my usual place. I hope for the best for you and maybe you can come visit me in Argentina. Your breakfast is excellent and your house is delightful. Nora (Argentina)

Hi Ron & Ryan: Loved Budapest. I can see why you chose to live there. It is my favorite of all the cities I visited (Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Barcelona, Palma) Your hospitality made my visit twice as enjoyable. If you can't open these pictures in JPG, let me know & I'll convert them. Hope you'll look me up whenever you visit California (presently the home of scorched earth -lol) Miss you. Peter (Sonoma, CA)

Since a few days home, but still a bit in Budapest i guess; I find it a very interesting experience to have wandered through 'your' city for almost a week and will keep good memories of this trip. This is also due to the fact I stayed in your excellent B&B! It's so much nicer to stay in somebody's home than in whatever hotel. Tomorrow work starts again.... Enjoy your vacation this year in Vietnam and Cambodia. Maybe I’ll show up one day again in Budapest.
Groeten! Rob (Amsterdam)

A wonderful place to stay. We feel very much at home. If you are ever in Sydney, give us a buzz. WE love this city: the buildings, the transportation, the goulash, and of course the baths. Ron and Fred (Sydney, Australia)

We may have only stayed a weekend, but I will savor this weekend in my head for a long time and you two will be part of it. You have a wonderful flat. Thank you for your commitment and hospitality. Rebeka and Branko (Bratislava, Slovakia)

Spring 2007

I find you both simply wonderful and truly amazing. Both of you are always one stip ahead of your guests and their needs. You are generous, kind, and gracious hosts. Your knowledge is astounding as well. I could, of course, go on; however, I don’t want your heads to get too big- have to leave some compliments for the others to give. Tam (Calgary, Canada)

Thank you for your hospitality during our stay in Budapest. We had a great time and you make such good coffee. Last but not least- we said it before- you are very easy to like. Hope to see you in Kalmar. Anders and Inger (Sweden)

Thanks for the hospitality, the directions in a language that I could understand, and all the other travel tips for making my stay in Budapest so memorable. If you should ever get to Grahamstown, you’re welcome and I would hope to be able to reciprocate your hospitality. Cheers. Gary (South Africa)

I was so worried that, with only a short time in Budapest, I wouldn’t be able to get a good feel for the city…really I would have preferred to “park” here for much longer. You both made me feel so welcome as soon as I arrived though, and made the city feel like my own with your copious amounts of advice and city tips! Thank you so much for welcoming me to your B & B with open arms and for treating me as though I were a visiting friend! I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be, and will recommend your B & B to all my friends for their travels. Meagan (Palo Alto, CA- USA)

I’m so glad that Dawn recommended that I stay at your B & B- it was a wonderful and warm treat! Thank you for your tremendous hospitality, good teas, stimulating conversation, and helpful advice. I hope I will have future opportunities to be a guest in your home. Stacie (Washington, D.C.)

Like everyone else has written, thank you so much for your hospitality. You have truly been extremely gracious. The beds have been soft, the food great, but most importantly the company has been amazing. Thanks for all your hints/tips about what to see and eat in Budapest. We look forward to returning and sharing a bottle of wine with you again sometime in the near future. A bientot. Will, Andrew, Elizabeth, Joseph. (USA)

Winter 2006 - 2007

I realized I forgot to sign the guestbook in the all the last minute packing I was doing.  :-(   I really had a great time and wanted to thank you for everything.  It was the first time that I had traveled to Europe on my own - and your warmth was much appreciated.  Also, I wanted to thank you for being such gracious hosts!  I think you went above and beyond in terms of your hospitality, helping me to get oriented, and tips on where to go and what to see!  I'm going to let friends know about your bed and breakfast. Senaida Fernandes (NYC)

Just wanted to thank you, once again, for having us to your beautiful home.  I guess I'll just have to come back again, since I only got 2 days! I also wanted to let you know that we loved our stay in Vilnius.  The old town is beautiful (if not quite as exquisite as Tallinn) and is still relatively undiscovered and a bargain. It's hard to believe that all 3 of the Baltic countries are so different.  If you ever get to head that way, we loved the monastery we stayed in.  Check it out: http://domusmaria.vilnensis.lt/.  It's quiet, centrally located in the old town and includes a great breakfast. Joe Shipley and his merry band of three others (Washington, DC)

What a wonderful place to find you. I’m so glad we got to spend this time with you. Ron, thanks again for getting us to the baths… that was really special. Karran Wolff (Modesto, California)

As I write this on the morning of my last full day, I think of how my first trip to Budapest would have been much different and not as enjoyable if I had not stayed with you. I wanted a trip that would let me experience Budapest not as an American tourist but as an American living in the city. Even if I had not stayed with you, your website alone would have prepared me. The location of you flat alone was worthwhile- close to the city center, but far enough away that I did not feel surrounded by tourists. I knew that I wanted a solitary experience, but I also knew I needed some people with whom I felt secure… you two were exactly that. I have no doubt that if I had stayed in a hotel my Budapest experience would not have been as positive. Dan (Auburn, Maine)

Budapest is an elegant city, much like my home Buenos Aires. My encounters with you and the people here were very friendly and comfortable. Thanks for everything. Miguel Huertas (Argentinaj)

Thank you for four nice days in Budapest: hospitality, friendly reception, good talks, etc. Peter (Dresden, Germany)

It’s been a very enjoyable stay here with you guys. Besides the selection of teas and the computer in the kitchen, I very much enjoyed the “style” you gave to my room. It feels very familiar and calming. It’s nice to see you guys watching TV together, to see you reading emails together or making omelet's (send me an email and I’ll share some great frittata recipes). After me and my boyfriend finish our adventure in California, if we survive the Republicans, it would be nice to come back to Europe and maybe open a B & B in Prague, inspired by what you created here in Budapest. Ciao! Alberto (Milan and Prague)

Fall 2006

I thank Ron and Ryan for the warm welcoming! The room, the breakfast, everything was just a very nice surprise! Thanks. Best regards- Sebastian Socque (Quebec and France)

This was my first trip to Budapest and I am very sure it will not be the last. The city captured my heart. When I come back I will be sure to knock on your door, for it was indeed a pleasant place to stay. Thank you so much for your warm welcoming atmosphere and your help. Sebastian says “Hello!” and conveys his greetings – I say “Good Bye” and add... “See you later”. Wolf Ulrich (Berlin)

Thank you very much for your nice, friendly and warm hospitality and all the little tips. After my Hungarian friends moved into the countryside of Budapest, it’s good to know to have you and such a beautiful and central place here… so I like to say “See you guys soon again”!” Thorsten (Munich)

I must thank you so much for your great hospitality. I needed to spend a relaxing holiday and I must say that in your lovely apartment you breathe peace and calmness. You gave me much helpful information about Budapest. One more thing: Your respect towards the guests is great and worth mentioning. I’m a quite reserved and shy guy, but you made me feel at ease with you. I’ll recommend your B & B to all the travel agencies with whom I work, sending tourists to Budapest. If you come to Italy you must visit my town Ancona and its neighborhood. I’ll be your special TOUR GUIDE. Andrew (Ancona, Italy)

We had a great and relaxing time at your place and in Budapest, starting with the tasty breakfast every morning. We especially enjoyed your calmness and hospitality. Thanks for the hints around Budapest. Looking forward for the next time at your place. Stefan and Markus- Aachen, Germany

This was exactly how I wanted to spend my time in Hungary- with nice Americans instead of mean Hungarians :>) I think that the B n B is so so so great it felt like home. Thank you for the tour. Great food! Best wishes. If you ever need to be updated about the U.S. write me. Alison (new teen, very mature) and her family, Vicki, Shannon and Jason. Arizona and Wyoming

Thank you so very much for the wonderful week with you in lovely Budapest. The thermal baths are heavenly- don’t know how I will be doing without them. It has been good catching up with your lives after the years working for the county together. You have a wonderful and interesting life here in Hungary- never a dull day. Ron- thanks for taking me to Mass at beautiful St. Stephen’s Basilica and to the opera to enjoy Rigoletto. You both are very dear to us, and we hope to continue to follow your journey around the world. Thank you both so much for wonderful memories. Ruth and Henry- Modesto, California

Thank you so much for you hospitality. We had a wonderful time here. Budapest is an adventure and well worth travelling to. Maybe twice or even more often. See you in Berlin! Sebastian and Katrin- Berlin

This was a great way to spend our first four nights of our 6 month journey. We appreciated all the tips of where to go and how to get there. Thank you so much for the birthday cake- very sweet of you! Follow along on our journey on our blog! Julie and Mesissa- Portland, Oregon USA

This is a delightful venue. I enjoyed your friendship and hospitality so very much. Thanks! Howard- Fulbright Scholar- Richmond, Vermont

Budapest would not be nearly so “bitchin” were it not for this wonderful, cozy, beautiful place! Thank you so much. Sheila (Fulbright Teacher) and Paul and Maggie (the wonder dog-“Woof”) USA

Much appreciation for the excellent hospitality and facility during our Budapest visit. Suggestions, directions and conversation added so much to our understanding of the city. We’re sure you’re missing Modesto and look forward to your return! Continuing happiness, Jerry and Seena Rhine- Modesto California

Thanks for being great hosts during our first trip to Budapest. It was grand to have someone point out the sites worth seeing, and of course those not worth seeing, which weren’t that many. When traveling to a foreign country, city or otherwise it’s great to have someone who speaks your language on many different levels. Of course being centrally located in the city was a huge plus as well. Again, thank you. We will be sure to refer friends to stay here. Mike and Lance- U.S.

I spent a week in Budapest, and in the middle of my 6 weeks trip this was like spending a week n a nice home. Thanks a lot for being the kind and relaxed hosts that you are! What Budapest brought was beautiful architecture, a mix of people I met (from Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Serbia… so quite a mix!) and eventually even cash and my luggage! (Ed. Note- Lost luggage took 2 days to catch up with Jacques). If you ever come to Holland, you are more than welcome. Ciao! Jacques- Holland

Had a great time staying with you 2. Very hospitable! I had a decidedly enjoyable time visiting with the “locals”. Thank you for use of the mobile; it was very helpful. See you again! Perhaps I’ll see you at the Rudas Thermals someday. Cheers. Gabriel- U.S.

Thank you for the nice time which I spent here in your guesthouse. It’s a very central situation you have here. Everything is not too far and it’s really cozy in your home. All the best. Andreas- Germany

Thanks for making my first trip to Budapest so easy. You have a comfortable home, and I really enjoyed my stay with you. Thanks for all the tips and info, and the loan of the AC converter. I’ll certainly recommend you to anyone coming to Hungary! Timothy- San Francisco

Hospitality is something I know and you are for sure!! A memorable trip from my Peace Corps stint in Ukraine will be Budapest and you guys. How special you made this. Hope that our paths will cross again. Warm regards. Edwin- Peace Corps in Lviv, Ukraine

Thanks so much for the warm hospitality and great conversation (and coffee!). We had a wonderful stay--- was just what we needed: a caring, comfortable place with a wealth of info and insight into getting around Budapest and beyond. Paulina & Chris, Poland & Texas

I feel so lucky to have had your B & B recommended, and followed up on it. You have a beautiful B & B and I like your eye for detail and the loving way in which you look after it as well as your guests. Thank you for taking such good care of me, the chats and help, and making me feel at home. I’ve done a lot of traveling over the past 18 months and I can say that you stand out and sure to be recommended to any friends coming to Budapest. Good luck to you and whatever ventures you have in your lives. Clive, England

Summer 2006

Thank you for your hospitality! We enjoyed very much your B & B and your gastronomic recommendations. ‘Paprika’ Café is the pearl of Budapest… however, instead of making us any richer, it just makes us fatter! Oh well!!! All the best for the future. Olivier & Joao, London

“Matthew and Will stayed in a lovely B & B in Budapest. This being stop #3 on their European adventure, they were weary and ready for a refreshing stop and a relaxing atmosphere. Well, thanks to the hospitality of  Ron and Ryan, that is exactly what they received.” Thank you so much for everything. It was outstanding! Matthew & Will, U.S.

I must say you are very lucky to live in Budapest as this is a remarkable city, much more beautiful than I had expected in my wildest dreams. And what a great apartment you have! Anyway, thank you very much for everything. It was very pleasant to stay at your flat for a few days. Sebastian, France

Thank you so much for all your warm, welcoming hospitality from the moment we stepped out of the elevator. You made our stay in Budapest memorable and completely enjoyable, Rosemary & John, Ireland

I don’t know how to write “kosonom” correctly but I remember you also speak English! So please accept my X-tra largest THANK YOU. Csokolom. Konrad, Frankfurt, Germany.

Thanks for being such wonderful hosts, and looking after us. I’ve felt very ‘at home’. Next time I promise to do the culture thing. Hopefully I’ll see you both in the land of the Aussies. Pete, Sydney, Australia

You guys have been hosts extraordinaire! Thanks so much for your kindness, your warmth, for answering my multitude of questions patiently, and for providing such a comfortable atmosphere. I hope (and expect) to be returning to Budapest and will definitely return to Budabab and recommend you to others. Eron, Denver (Peace Corps, Romania)

Thank you for the stay at your home. I had a grand week. Special thanks about the tips and advice you gave. There’s something I could hope for… next time I come here, please make it a little bit cooler weather… over 30 C. is too much for a Nordic guy. ;>)  Jakko, Helsinki.

Thank you very much for your patience and help to our discovery of Budapest. We like your B and B a lot and will surely recommend it to our friends. So you’ll get very busy in future! Inge and Thom, Belgium/Netherlands.

I really enjoyed my short stay with you both here in Budapest. You have a veritable ‘home away from home’, as they say these days. Highly recommended. I shall certainly point my friends in your direction, should they be heading for Hungary. Colin, UK

For us Budapest is definitely a piece of Paradise on earth, and your place really fits very well in it! Thank you for all, and especially for making us anxious to finish our renovations at home and really impatient to open our own guesthouse. We received some very good tips from you on how to welcome guests in the best way possible. Many thanks for that. Joris and Michel, Belgium

Thanks for a great time in Hungary. We have enjoyed our holiday here 100%. We understand why you decided to come and live in Pest. It is a beautiful city, including Buda. Thanks to your hospitality, our time here has been even more enjoyable. We appreciate that very much! Take care in the future. Next time we come to Budapest, we’ll for sure “check in” again-if you’ll have us here! Best regards, Lasse and Assaf, Denmark

Dear Ron and Ryan: Thank you very much for the warm welcome to your home- your kind assistance and help here, making our stay even more enjoyable. We can truly say we felt “home away from home” and who knows, maybe we will be back in the near future. Thank you once again. Oliver and Joao, living in London

Dear Ryan, Thank you for your hospitality and patience. You are a great host and have a wonderful way with your guests. I hope that your advice about moving to Europe becomes a reality; you gave me hope to get out of the U.S.A. If you ever happen to be in Chicago, let me know and would love to have you and Ron be my guests. Enjoy the rest of summer and again thanks for everything. It felt like home and the bed really was the best I've slept in in all of Europe. Best wishes, Enrique Vilaseca, USA

Dear Ron and Ryan, Your directions made it the easiest place to find and the information on your web site was so comprehensive. From arrival to departure you were charming hosts with nothing too much trouble. Your incredible knowledge of Budapest, its streets, public transport, and places to visit, made each days exploration so exciting. My stay could not have been made better. Best wishes for the future. Max Hall, Melbourne, Australia

Spring 2006

Dear Ryan and Ron, Thank you so much for your hospitality. What a wonderful surprise to find another Iowa Hawkeye all the way in Budapest...small world! The bed and breakfast is so much more than I dared to expect. Perfect location, very comfortable and both rooms have their own distinct charms. I will certainly recommend this to friends and family. The website is exceptionally helpful!! Thank you for helping to make my first trip to Hungary such a pleasant, if brief, experience. Cheers, Rich Ashcroft USA, but living in The Netherlands

Even before Ann and I arrived in Budapest, we knew we'd enjoy our stay here-- Your website is so informative and helpful then to actually meet you both...Brilliant, even better!!! Thank you both for sharing not only your home, but the one of your adopted city - listening to our travel stories and sharing conversations, all wonderful lagniappe!!! May all your travels be as fabulous as you made ours. Cheers!!! Gaynor Denmark and Ann Eike, presently displaced in Lexington, KY, USA

Dear Ryan and Ron, Thank you so much for everything. I had a really pleasant stay. I would recommend your B and B to all of my friends. You guys are amazing. Budapest is a nice place to visit, even though I fell in love with Slovakia and not with Hungarians. Merci! Simon Corneau, Ottawa, Canada

Very dear Ron and Ryan, I love our evening ritual (after the day of exploring Budapest) of eating fresh strawberries with halva and drinking tea. How will we return to normal working lives after these glorious days of Spring in Budapest? Thank you for your warmth and care; for sharing your wonderful home; for taking us to ballet, opera, holy mass, the island, falafel feast, promenade, Govinda, Parliament, reading rooms, and so on. Thank you for your EXCELLENT friendship, which we treasure. Love, Patricia Schonstein and Don Pinnock, South Africa

Ryan and Ron, Thank you so much for the kindness you have shown us during our exchange. Your hospitality is amazing. We really enjoyed staying with you while in Budapest. It was like staying with old friends, which is what I hope we become. Please feel free to visit us in Oregon anytime! Thanks again, Angela Moeny, Oregon, USA

Dear Ron and Ryan, Thank you so much for your warm and gracious hospitality. We've had a great few days in Budapest and will definitely be back. Having such a lovely place to stay made it a wonderfully enjoyable and relaxing break. Very best wishes, Richard and Andrew, London (Fitz B and B)

Hello!  Just wanted to let you know I made it home okay, and my husband and animals were very happy to see me.  Thanks again for making my first solo Euro-trip so enjoyable! Carrie Schultz, Belgium by way of the USA

Carissimi Ryan and Ron,
Why don't you test your level of Italian...? Budapest e' bellissima. Budapest is beautiful. Ma la vostra casa e' piu bella! Your flat is even more beautiful. L'oca e' buomissima. Goose is good and rich in flavour. Ma i vostri consigei, di piu'. But your advices and tips are even more precious. Hope to make you taste tortellini, tagliatelle and ragout in a cozy restaurant in Bologna. We thank you and wish you everything best for the future. Lucia, Federica, and Fabrizio The Italian Roadrunners off to Prague now

2005

Hello Ron and Ryan,
I am back home now. I really appreciated the time I passed with you. Your attention towards me (getting me the bio products), your ideas of different places, and your friendliness. Your flat 'breathes' tranquility, peace, love. You know how to receive people, to listen to them and to advise them. I enjoyed having fruitful breakfast, having tea any time I wanted and to allow me to being autonomous. Thanks for helping wash my clothes, other details which makes people feel well. Be sure I will encourage my best friends to come and visit Budapest and YOU!! Feel free to come to France whenever you want. It will be a pleasure for me to show you some places & to share moments with you. Take care, Love, Thierry from France

We feel like we have entered a time warp with the dramatic arrival- buckets of rain, but we feel like we got so lucky in finding you so last minute. A perfect landing! Thank you for your kindness in sharing your special home with us. It has been a real pleasure & a perfect rejuvenation point in our travels. Budapest was superb! Budabab is too from the bubble bath to candles to Internet to DVD. Thanks, Amanda and Adam from Australia   PS - If you are ever in Melbourne - we can help you too.

Thank you for a short (2-4 August), but lovely visit in your home. If you ever come to Sweden don't hesitate to contact us for guiding. Many regards from Gards family, Marie, Ulf, Isabella, and Beatrice from Sweden

Dear R and R,
We are very happy to have met you and to have had the chance to speak (as barely as we could...) with someone so interesting. Thank you for your precious advices to visit Budapest. We hope to see you here in Budapest or maybe in Trieste. Kisses....A presto! Renato and Christine from Italy

Hello from Berlin, It was very special to stay at your place in Budapest, perfect, thanks for the coffee that you make me, when I came from 10 hours walking at the street - great!!  Greetings from Christian

Dear Ryan and Ron,

Last month you provided me with some very useful information regarding a family trip to Budapest and travel to Vienna. Especially helpful were the tips you have on your website for Monday activities since the museums are closed. We asked in Vienna about traveling on their subway system with two one-way tickets from Budapest to Vienna (for free), but the agent, although cordial enough, politely told us we needed to purchase subway tickets. Perhaps we didn't know what to ask for. It was worth asking about! Others may want to follow this tip and perhaps have some success.

I do hope that others avail themselves of your excellent insights into what to see and do on Mondays. We found all your suggestions invaluable and because we knew about these in advance, were able to maximize our sightseeing. The food, culture, and history were wonderful. Many thanks again. I will be referring others to you and your website.
Thank you, Kay from the US
