The bed in the large bedroom has been replaced with a new sturdy bed frame and double mattresses. A new double sized sofa bed has been added. This room can now accommodate up to four adults comfortably.

The smaller room now sports a new sofa bed and is able to accommodate up to three adults at one time.

As you can see, we are a very small B & B operation. This allows us the luxury to give our guests all of the time they may want or need in discovering the city.

We live in the flat and can be available to give directions or other information needed. If you scroll down, you will find our calendar of availability.

The new sofa bed has arrived and has replaced the blue one in the above picture. This is a double bed that rolls out. The thick mattress will ensure a good night's sleep.

Water closet with shower

During evenings, this bathroom is exclusively for the use for guests in the large room. We and the guests in the small room use the bathroom below.

Room rates include breakfast each morning of your stay. Breakfast choices include a choice of rolls, breads, jams, cheese, meat, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea. Breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m. Guests are also invited to help themselves to coffee or tea at any other time of day. Early morning departures are not a problem. We will still have breakfast ready for you to see you on your way.

We have high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the flat. You are welcome to bring your own computer with a Wi-Fi card. We also have a desktop computer station Internet access, which all guests are welcomed to use, free of charge. We have a large selection of DVDs if you would like to watch a movie.

Our room rates have remained the same since 2004, but to the 13% annual rise in utilities and general inflation, we regrettably find it necessary to our rates by 5 Euros as of July 1, 2008.

If you bring a jar of Skippy or Jif peanut butter, or a box of Bisquik,  you will get our gushing appreciation, sincere gratitude, and hugs upon request. People coming from the US have lost their peanut butter going through security, when packed in carry-on luggage. They did not get hugs as a result. : (

Notes:

§ We do allow smoking in the living room and kitchen, but ask that the guestrooms remain smoke free.

§ Only registered guests are allowed to stay in the room.

§ Breakfast is served from as early as 7:30 am, but only until 10:30 am unless there is a special request. After this, only coffee/tea, bread, jam, and yogurt will be available.

§ Guests are welcome to help themselves to complimentary coffee or tea any time of the day or night.

§ Guests are welcome to use the refrigerator to store food.

§ If you need an extra towel for the thermals, we will be happy to provide one for you.

§ Registered guests are asked to leave their room at noon, if the room is going to be occupied again on that day. You are welcome to leave your luggage and keep your keys until you are ready to leave the city. There is no additional charge for this.

§ You may check in at any time of the day or night as long as we have notice of your arrival time. In the case of a guest checking out of your booked room, you will not have access to the room until 1:00 p.m.

§ We ask that you inform us of the expected time and mode of arrival at the airport, train station, bus, or by car. This allows us to make sure someone is here to greet you and give you keys.

§ Due to Hungary having the highest electricity rates in Europe, we can no longer offer laundry services for free. The only public laundromat in the city is: “Patyolat” at Városház u. 3-5. Open 7am – 7pm Mon-Fri. Wash is 1,700 Huf for 7 kilos (15 lbs.). Dryer is 720 Huf for first 15 minutes.

Below you will find our calendar of availability. If you should not see it, then Google has the hiccups, so try again.

Reservation Request

Please note that since we are so small, a cancellation with little notice does not allow us to fill the room again. This is part of our livelihood, so your consideration making a reservation is appreciated. We do not take deposits, but depend on your sincerity for making a commitment.

Send an e-mail to info@budabab.com with the following information:

Name:

Address:

Date and approximate time of arrival with mode of transport (plane, train, car, hydrofoil, bicycle, walking, inline skates, and so on):

Date of departure:

Number of nights: We have a TWO night minimum stay.

Number of people:

Room preference:

Check our calendar above for availability for your choice of rooms and ask for a confirmation. After confirming, we will ask for your arrival information. After you confirm your reservation, it will appear on the calendar; see it above. No deposits are needed, as we trust you will cancel if the need arises. If a room is booked at the time you need, double check with us to make sure there has not been a cancellation.

Payment is preferred in Euros, due to our paying commissions in Euros, but Hungarian forints are accepted at the current rate of exchange at the local exchange booth two blocks from us. To estimate the amount in Hungarian forints, you can use the Currency Cheat Sheets link on our home page, and then use the 'typical cash rate  +4%' for doing your currency conversion. This will give you the closest estimate for converting currencies on the street. If you prefer, you can convert Forints for Euros at these booths also and then pay by Euro.
